Your data principal rights

Last updated: 23 May 2026

You have seven rights over the data we hold about you, granted by the DPDP Act, 2023. You can exercise any of them by emailing contact@bighelpers.in. We respond within 7 working days.

Right to know (DPDP § 11)

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, what we do with it, and who else has it. We will send you a written summary.

Right to access

You can download a copy of your data in a portable format (JSON / CSV) at any time. From inside the app, go to Settings → Data export. If you cannot sign in, email us.

Right to correct (DPDP § 12)

If any data we hold about you is wrong or out of date, you can fix it directly inside the app (Settings → Profile, or the relevant business / customer record), or email us to do it for you.

Right to erase (DPDP § 12)

You can delete your account from Settings → Close account. We will erase your account data within 30 days. Business records that we are legally required to retain (invoices, payments — 7 years under the Income-tax Act and GST law) will be kept in anonymised form and then deleted.

Right to nominate (DPDP § 14)

You can nominate someone to exercise your rights on your behalf if you die or become incapable of doing so. To nominate, email us with the nominee's full name, relationship to you, and one verifiable contact (email and phone). We will record the nomination against your account.

Right to withdraw consent (DPDP § 6(4))

You can withdraw consent at any time. We will stop processing your data on that basis going forward. Some processing is on legal grounds (for example, keeping invoices for 7 years) — we explain that case by case in our reply.

Right to grievance redressal (DPDP § 13)

If you are not happy with how we have handled any of the above, see our grievance redressal page. You can escalate to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.

How we verify your identity

Before acting on a request that affects an account, we ask you to write from the registered email address. For sensitive requests (full data export, deletion) we may ask you to confirm a one-time code we send to your registered phone or email. This protects you against someone else trying to access or delete your data.

Cost

All of the above are free for an individual Data Principal. We may charge a reasonable cost only if a request is manifestly unfounded or repetitive — we will tell you in advance.
